“The secret of this inner life by Grace is that there are no yesterdays; there are no tomorrows. There is only the ever-present now. In this very minute, we have no past, so there is no penalty to pay for past mistakes, and neither are we piling up rewards for the future. We are living in the fullness and completeness of life in this very minute. Now, in this minute, we are living. We cannot live yesterday, and we cannot live tomorrow. The only thing that we can do is to live here and now this minute. And, of course, when tomorrow comes, it will be now also. It has to be now. It is all a continuous now—now—now. This minute is now. Next minute will be now. It is all now, and if we are living in the fullness of our understanding at this moment, we are doing all that can be expected of us. All that we are ever required to do is to forget the past, cease planning or worrying about the future, live to the highest sense of our spiritual capacity now, and leave the rest to God.

What we are living this minute will manifest itself in the next minute, the next year, the next era, or the next incarnation….

…All we have to do is continue in the consciousness of this minute, keep the love that is in our hearts this very minute—this love of God. With that love filling our being, there is no possibility of any other quality entering consciousness. We, and we alone, are responsible if we permit other thoughts to enter our consciousness. No one is responsible but our very own selves—yourself or myself.

…We are the master of our own experience, and we become that master through this sense of nowness. To realize that the Christ of God, the Son of God, is the very consciousness of our being until the end of the world, and then to look out at all our neighbors and realize that right there, too, is this same truth, this same eternal life, this same love, is fulfilling the two great Commandments (Mark 12:30, 31).

We can make this a continuing experience only in this moment of Grace. The wholeness of the Godhead is flowing in us and through us, and It is appearing here visibly as us. Look through what we see as a human face, and see in everyone who presents himself to us the face of God—God shining through, the grace of God appearing as every individual.

In such a realization, now are we under divine Grace. All of the time that existed before this minute is wiped out. So far as we are concerned, there are no benefits from the past, because in this now we need nothing from the past. We have the fullness of the Godhead bodily in us at this very moment—the fullness of God manifesting in, through, and as us this very minute. Can we want more than that?”
